Looking Away unto Jesus
When stores on the streets are closed,
When communities are locked down,
When public squares become hospitals,
When countries shut down their borders,
People can only look out from their windows,
Shaking heads and sighing repeatedly:
When will the situation get better?
Where can my heart find rest?
The emergency line is busy,
Even officers wear masks in press conferences,
For fear of getting infected even in a chat,
No more eating out but only take-aways,
Nothing to do after lockdown,
Except to worry at home all day:
Where to see a doctor if I show symptoms?
What should I do if my child start coughing?
Hotels are in trouble: all isolation rooms are taken.
Hospitals are in trouble: there are too many critically ill patients to handle.
Supermarkets are in trouble: foodstuff is running out.
Pharmacies are in trouble: alcohol and masks are gone.
Companies are in trouble: bankruptcy is declared.
Workers are in trouble: the last paycheck has been spent.
Countries are in trouble: major cities are in lockdown.
The earth is in trouble: the whole world has come to a halt.
Is reopening really safe?
Are the test results really accurate?
Are those discharged from the hospital really healthy?
Is it really safe to go out?
As one city reopens, another city goes into lockdown.
As one factory reopens, another one is shut down.
As one person recovers, another is taken to the hospital.
As old worries fade, new worries come.
When can we recover our freedom again?
Where can we escape from danger?
Which leader can lead us through this crisis?
What news can make us smile?
Upon reading the Bible, I finally realized,
Human life is destined to have many sufferings.
Why not seek a real change?
Finding the real peace in Christ.
Dear friend:
Please believe in the eternal gospel to receive the divine life,
Please enter into the unshakable kingdom—the kingdom of God.
Please enjoy the smiling face and the unconditional acceptance of the Lord Jesus,
Please join this warm and rich great family, the church life, Here is our stable and reliable refuge.
The book of Hebrews in the Bible tells us: “Looking away unto Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith” (12:2). Yes, friend, He will give us faith. If you look away unto Jesus from everything negative in the environment, you will fully enjoy God’s salvation.
Let us pray: “Lord, I cannot save myself; only You can save me. Lord Jesus, I do not have any faith in myself. I open to You, I trust in You, and I receive You as my Savior!”
