Can Christians Have a Happy Marriage?

Can Christians Have a Happy Marriage?

Does it seem like a joke to say, do we eat lobsters at a wedding because it is delicious or because of style? Neither, it is to show the newly weds the way to happiness. As a couple, one has to to be deaf, the other has to be dumb. But is the way of happiness pretending to be deaf and dumb, It is not exactly like that.

Let’s look the Bible. In Genesis Chapter 2 after Adam was created, his job was a very big responsibility. Was Adam wondering why he had no mate and was alone? At this point Jehovah God said, It is not good for the man to be alone; I will make him a helper as his counterpart. So Jehovah God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs and built it into a woman – Eve. When Adam awoke he said: this time this is bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh, implying a perfect match, fantastic, I love this account very much!

So the Bible comes to a conclusion: Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and shall cleave to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. So as a husband and wife, is this not a partnership for life? Can life and death partners be deaf and dumb forever?

Undoubtedly, true happiness is having a spouse as your close friend, good partner, helping each other, learning from each other, listening carefully to suggestions and complaints for the other half, sharing each others’s burdens, and accepting helpful insights, for the other half’s actions, you should praise the good actions and work through the bad actions.

So when should you play deaf? When you provoke each other’s flesh, you have to be deaf to those irritating words, you have to close your eyes and not see that much. you have to close your mouth and not speak strong, violent words, you don’t have to rely on yourself to change each other, you only have to pray for the other half, let God do it , He does better than you think.

In the same manner, learn to let go of the matters that you can’t let go of, listen to what you should, and not hear what you shouldn’t, these are all indispensable lessons in your marriage life, but what matters more is that you were created as a pair, to help God manage many things. But it is not normal if you two are together, yet God is left alone and lonely in a corner.

Let me redefine the way to happiness: Welcome God as the third person in to your marital life, He is not an interfering God, but one that connects the two of you, a third party arbitrating between you and your spouse as your master. This is the way of happiness.

You, me, and Him—the perfect combination.

A Christian’s Love – Something You May Not Understand

A Christian’s Love – Something You May Not Understand

What makes a Christian most blessed is not the sweet nothings uttered between two lovers.

It is in kneeling down with you in prayer!

What makes a Christian happiest is not going out with you for sightseeing.

It is in sharing God’s word together with you!

What makes a Christian admire you most is not your education and knowledge.

It is your wisdom and enlightenment in God!

What makes a Christian love you the most is not your handsome features.

It is in how you weep and repent as you reflect on yourself before God!

What makes a Christian hope in you most is not in the great prospects of your career.

It is to be able to co-work with you in serving God together!

What makes a Christian esteem you most is not the high appraisal you get from the boss.

It is your ability to solve the problems of those in trouble!

What warms a Christian most is not the hug between two people.

It is that you can pray for me when I am at my lowest!

What a Christian seeks most is not to have an expensive diamond ring on her finger.

It is to have a priceless hand, though wearing a cheap ring, always holding my hand!

What a Christian loves to listen to most is not the beautiful singing of your voice.

It is the word of wisdom you received from Jehovah God proceeding out of your mouth!

What makes a Christian most touched is not the feeling that you give to others.

It is that God-fearing heart you have before Him!

What a Christian delights to hear most is not “I love you.”

It is “God really loves me that He gave you to me!”

Dear friend, do you admire a Christian’s love? Now, you can pray to the Lord:

Lord Jesus, I am willing to have this kind of love.

Oh Lord, I accept You as my life.

Come into me that I may love You and love others too.

Four Main Reasons for Illness

Four Main Reasons for Illness

In the Bible, there are mainly four reasons for illness:

  1. Violating the natural laws

When God created the universe, He set up many laws. For example, if we want to stay healthy, we need to maintain good personal hygiene, keep a regular eating and sleeping schedule, and live in a clean environment. These are the laws of nature. If we violate these natural laws, we will get sick. If we do not put on more clothes in cold weather, we will definitely catch a cold.  We need to obey God’s natural laws.

  1. Sin

Romans 5:12 says: “Therefore just as through one man sin entered into the world, and through sin, death; and thus death passed on to all men because all have sinned.” The first cause of illness is actually sin. Because of man’s fall, sin came into the world, and then came weakness, illness, and death. If we do not deal with sin, God’s life cannot flow to us, and the result will be weakness, illness, and even death.

  1. Satan’s attacks

In 2 Corinthians 12, Paul mentioned that He was caught away to the third heaven and into Paradise underneath the earth, and that he received transcendent revelations. Because of the transcendence of the revelations, in order that he might not be exceedingly lifted up, the Lord allowed Satan to buffet him by giving him a thorn in the flesh.

Concerning the thorn, Paul entreated the Lord three times that it might depart from him, which means that he kept asking the Lord until He spoke to him. The Lord said: “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is perfected in weakness” (2 Cor. 12:9). Once the Lord spoke, all his problems were gone.

  1. For God’s glory

In John 9, there is a man blind from birth. When the disciples saw him, they asked the Lord: “Who sinned, this man or his parents, that he would be born blind?” (v. 2). The Lord answered, “Neither has this man sinned nor his parents, but he was born so, that the works of God might be manifested in him” (v. 3).

We belong to the Lord, so we should have faith in Him. If you are ill and cannot be healed, even though you have dealt with everything thoroughly, do not worry, our Lord will give you sufficient grace. When we are ill, on the one hand, we should take care of our personal hygiene and the cleanliness of our environment, and on the other hand, we should pray to the Lord earnestly to receive enlightening and supply and enjoy His sufficient grace. Since we have the Lord who rules over all things, what have we to fear?

How to Preach the Gospel to Our Family Members ?

How to Preach the Gospel to Our Family Members ?

When preaching the gospel to our family members, they often say that religion merely teaches people to do good or even that we are being too superstitious. How do we respond to this?

The gospel to our family members is not focused on our preaching. Whether or not they will be saved depends not on what doctrine we preach, but rather on how we interact with them and the human virtues that we express.

Once a brother testified that after he got saved, he was very burdened for the salvation of his family. He was eager to preach the gospel to them. However, his mother told him, “Yes, you may have believed in the Lord, but look at yourself. You are always calling me a sinner without considering that I am the one raising you!” That day, the brother repented before the Lord. From then on, by the Lord’s leading, whenever he came home from the meetings, he would sing hymns. Then he would help to wash the dishes, clean the toilet, and keep the house neat and tidy.

At first, his mother wondered why he did this, since this brother never did household chores in the past. After some months of him doing this, she realized that her son had a change in life. Eventually, out of her curiosity, she came to the church, was touched by the love of the Lord Jesus, and got saved.

The key to family salvation lies with us. If we desire our family members to be saved, we first need to enjoy the Lord and live a normal human life at home. Then they will realize that your faith is very good. Just think about it: will they not be attracted?

Question no. 2

What if someone tells you, “I cannot accept the idea that a person who does not believe in the Lord Jesus but has done a lot of good deeds in his life will still not be able to enter paradise just because he does not believe.” They may not be able to accept such a concept. So how should we explain this?

This can be likened to our studying in university. As a student, you should complete the designated course arranged by the school before you can graduate. A student may say to his teacher, “I participated in a lot of charitable works, and I did all sorts of good deeds, how come I cannot graduate?” If you were the teacher, you would tell him, “Yes, you did very well. However, you did not submit the homework I assigned nor did you come for the exams, how can I let you graduate?”

God created man and put him on the earth according to His plan. Man must believe God’s word and believe into Christ. In this way, he can experience Christ’s redemption and receive the eternal life of God which God originally intended to give to man before his fall. If man does not believe in God’s word, even if he does many good things, in the end there will be no way for him to enter into the Kingdom of God according to God’s ordination.

Since this is the case, why don’t we preach the gospel? What should we do after hearing such a word? Since someone has shared this good news to us, why not simply just receive it? May the Lord bless you!

Why Do Christians Preach the Gospel So Zealously?

Why Do Christians Preach the Gospel So Zealously?

After believing in the Lord, why do Christians become fervent for the Lord? They become very active in sharing the gospel, even seeming too aggressive to some people. According to the Bible, we can summarize the reasons for their zealous preaching with the following points:

Preaching the Gospel Is the Command of the Lord Jesus

Jesus Himself was a gospel-preaching person. After His death and resurrection, He charged the disciples: “And He said to them, Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to all the creation” (Mark 16:15).

Preaching the Gospel Is out of Love

Aside from the command and stewardship, there is a deeper reason why Christians willingly preach the gospel. The Apostle John told us, “We love because [God] first loved us(1 Jn 4:19) God imparted His loving life into us. If a Christian loves God, he will spontaneously love men and think of preaching the gospel to others. This is unconditional, just like a mother who loves her child unconditionally.

Preaching the Gospel Is for Proclaiming the Good News

In Luke 4:18-19, the Lord Jesus quoted the Old Testament and said to the people of Galilee: “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to announce the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to proclaim release to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind, to send away in release those who are oppressed, to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, the year of jubilee.” Romans 10:14-15 says, “How then shall they call upon Him into whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe into Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without one who proclaims Him? And how shall they proclaim Him unless they are sent? As it is written, ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who announce the news of good things!'”

Preaching the Gospel Is for Saving Men

Because of the fall of our ancestors, Adam and Eve, all men became sinners, having the sinful nature within and sinful deeds without. Because of this, man is under God’s righteous judgment.. Preaching the gospel is to afford men the opportunity to believe into Christ and be justified by God. Otherwise, those who disobey the gospel will perish forever and be separated from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His strength (2 Thes1:9b). Salvation is truly such a serious matter. Therefore, despite being rejected and scorned repeatedly, Christians would still not be ashamed of the gospel, because the gospel is “the power of God unto salvation to everyone who believes” (Rom 1:16m).

Preaching the Gospel Is for Gaining the Heavenly Reward

After the Lord Jesus returns, He will see whether a Christian has rescued souls or not, for the kingdom (the church) to expand. If he has, then he will receive generous grace and gain an earlier entry into the joy of the Lord. Otherwise, he will suffer loss by being kept outside of the millennial kingdom for a thousand years where “there will be the weeping and gnashing of teeth” in the outer darkness (Mt 8:12b)

For all these reasons, Christians preach the gospel zealously.  When He returns, we long to hear Him say to us: “Well done, good and faithful slave.  You were faithful over a few things; I will set you over many things.

How Does God Lead Us in Our Living?

How Does God Lead Us in Our Living?

We have often heard people talk about receiving the Lord’s leading, yet they really do not understand how to receive His leading.  As we absorb Him and enjoy Him, we will have His presence, which is His leading.  As long as we do not have His presence, we do not have His leading.  His leading is His presence.

We need to exercise our spirit.  Our spirit is an organ with a very crucial function.  We need to exercise it in every aspect of our living.  Gradually, by so doing, the feeling will become stronger and keener, and our conscience will even become clearer.  By such an exercise, we will be brought into a genuine fellowship with the Lord.  Thus, when we feel unclear about certain things, we will sense the leading of the Lord from within.

Reading the Lord’s Word Steadfastly and Diligently

We should have the habit of continually reading the Lord’s word.  Some people may ask, “What should I do if I forget the first line as I begin reading the second line?” Actually, it is alright.  What matters the most is that we just simply dive into the Lord’s word.  Although we may forget what we have just read, the Lord’s word washes us and cleanses us.  When we come to receive the Lord’s word every day, the living word of God will cleanse all the filthiness in our mind.

We need to ask God for a spirit of wisdom and revelation.  When we ask for this, surely the Lord will give it to us.  In this way, we will be under the divine dispensing of God’s economy.  The Lord’s word dispenses His very own element into our inner being.  Spontaneously, His word will provide us His leading in our daily living.

Experiencing the Lord’s Word Leading Us in Our Daily Life

When we seek the Lord’s leading in our daily life, His leading does not come to us suddenly.  His leading comes through a daily process of exercising our spirit so that our conscience is clean and void of any accusation.  It comes when we know His word well, possessing it like a treasure hidden in us.  When we are equipped with the Lord’s word in our daily life, the constant word will become the instant word, the light will shine forth, and the leading will come.

We have faith in the Lord, not because we are particularly good, but because we have been living a normal and healthy spiritual life in asking the Lord what He wants.

You will find out that through this exercise, you will have less troubles.  When someone says a word against you, you will not harbor ill feelings for 10 or 20 years, because you realize those words are not as important as the Lord’s word — the Lord’s word is much more precious.  Sometimes criticism from others can cause us to waste so much time on insignificant words.

Lord, I want to use my mind to muse on Your word.  By such an exercise, our faith will increase day by day, because faith is built upon the Lord’s word, through which the Lord will lead us constantly.

A Letter of Introduction Penned by God Himself

A Letter of Introduction Penned by God Himself

Friends, when you see the grand universe running in such a regulated and exact manner, have you ever thought that behind this complex but orderly system of the universe, there must be a designer and a governor who maintains its order? If there is a Creator of the universe, what does He look like? If, because of His differences from us in life and essence, this Creator of all things could not communicate with us face-to-face, He definitely would have written a “letter of introduction” to reveal Himself to us. And this “letter of introduction” surely would have the following characteristics:

(1) It must have His direct declaration, telling us that this letter is written by Him.

(2) His moral standard conveyed in this letter must far surpass the human moral standard.

(3) It must tell us the origin of the universe and the origin of mankind.

(4) It must tell us the destiny of the universe and the destiny of mankind.

(5) It must tell us the meaning of human life and God’s will concerning us.

(6) It must contain prophecies, and these prophecies must all be fulfilled at some point.

If we use the first point above to measure all the books in the world, then only three books would remain: the Bible (“Declares Jehovah” is repeated more than two thousand times in the Bible), the Koran, and the Book of Mormon.

If we use the second point to measure these three books, then only one book would remain: the Bible. Jesus said, “Love your neighbor as yourself” (Matt. 19:19). This is higher than Confucius’s teaching: “Don’t do to others what you don’t want others to do to you.”

Regarding the third point, the Bible says: “… for You have created all things, and because of Your will they were, and were created” (Rev. 4:11b), and “Jehovah God formed man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living soul” (Gen. 2:7).

Regarding the fourth, the Bible says: “They will perish, but You remain perpetually; and they all will become old like a garment” (Hebrews 1:11).  “But the day…in which the heavens will pass away with a roar, and the elements, burning with intense heat, will be dissolved, and the earth and the works in it will be burned up” (2 Pet. 3:10).  It also says: “And inasmuch as it is reserved for men to die once, and after this comes judgment” (Heb. 9:27).

Regarding the fifth, the Bible says: “God…predestinating us unto sonship through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will” (Eph. 1:5); “That you may be blameless and guileless, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and perverted generation” (Phil. 2:15a); “In order that now to the rulers and the authorities in the heavenlies the multifarious wisdom of God might be made known through the church, according to the eternal purpose which He made in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Eph. 3:10-11).

Regarding the sixth, on average, every four verses of the Bible contain one prophetic word. The Bible prophesies about the rise and fall of nations and peoples as well as the fate of individuals. Countless prophecies have been fulfilled.  How stunning!

So now, why don’t you pick up a Bible and take a look at the story of Jesus? Join us as we walk on the way of truth and enter into God’s light and joy together!

Calling on the Name of the Lord

Calling on the Name of the Lord

God regenerated us so that we can enjoy and experience Him. The most joyful way to enjoy the Lord is by calling on the name of the Lord. Some Christians think that calling on the name of the Lord is the same as praying to Him. However, there is a difference between calling on the Lord’s name and merely praying. Calling on the name of the Lord has a rich meaning.

First, the Hebrew word for call means to “call out to,” “to cry unto,” that is, to cry out. The Greek word for call means “to invoke a person,” “to call a person by name.” In other words, it is to call a person by naming him audibly. Although praying may be silent, calling must be audible.

Those who hear such uttered cries are amazed that Christians constantly invoke the Lord’s name by calling, “O Lord Jesus!” Some might say to themselves, “I have no Lord to depend on or cry out to, but these Christians have someone to depend on, someone to cry out to. Day and night, I am looking all around for someone to back me up, but all have failed. I heard that Christians have God as their fortress and refuge; they have God as their shield.” They will desire what we have.

Second, to call on the name of the Lord really means to cry out the name of the Lord Jesus. To audibly call, “Lord Jesus! O Lord Jesus!” is to “cry out to the Lord.”

Third, to call on the name of the Lord is to receive the Spirit, because the Lord is the Spirit! There was a certain brother who had a habit of bringing water with him. When he came to fetch me at the airport yesterday, by calling him I immediately had water to drink. If he were to have the habit of bringing bubble gum with him, then when I would call him, I would get bubble gum. Now, upon the Lord is the Spirit. Actually, He is the Spirit. Hence, when you call, “O Lord Jesus!” — you receive the Spirit.

Fourth, to call on the name of the Lord is our spiritual breathing. Lamentations 3:55-56 says, “I called upon Your name, O Jehovah, From the lowest pit. You have heard my voice; do not hide Your ear at my breathing, at my cry.”

How can God be our salvation, strength, and song? How can we draw water with joy out of the wells of salvation? The way is by “calling on His name,” “praising the Lord,” “singing a hymn,” and “crying out with a ringing shout.”

When we call on the Lord’s name, we receive strength and salvation. As the prophet Isaiah said, when we call upon His name, we can give thanks to Jehovah, we can draw water with rejoicing from the springs of salvation. This is the most enjoyable way to receive the Lord’s supply.

God’s Dispensing – Unlocking the Mystery of Believing in the Lord Jesus

God’s Dispensing – Unlocking the Mystery
of Believing in the Lord Jesus

The Two “Becomings” of Christ

John 1:14 says, “And the Word became flesh and tabernacled among us…, full of grace and reality.” God became flesh. He was incarnated as a man named Jesus.

1 Corinthians 15:45 says, “…the last Adam became a life-giving Spirit.” The Lord became the Spirit.  Rising from the dead, He is called the life-giving Spirit. Since this Spirit is the “life-giving Spirit,” the Spirit brings life and dispenses God into those who believe in Him. Thus, the Bible says, “He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life.”

If God did not put on flesh, and if He did not become a man, then He would not be able to accomplish redemption. But once He put on flesh, just like any human being, He was immediately restricted in two aspects: He was limited by space, and He was also limited by time. For example, when a man is in Tianjin, he cannot be in Beijing or Shanghai at the same time.

The death of Christ was not only to bear our sins; Christ’s death also released Him from His flesh to become the Spirit. Now Christ as the Spirit can be everywhere. Because He is no longer limited by time and space, at any time and in any place, we all can be one with Him.

To Regenerate Man

In man’s first birth, he obtains physical life. In man’s second birth, he receives God’s life through Christ. The Bible calls this “regeneration.” John 3:3 says, “… Unless one is born anew, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

A pig cannot become a part of the kingdom of sheep or live out the life of a sheep by being taught to improve or by being regulated; it must have the life of a sheep. Likewise, if man wants to become part of God’s kingdom, to live out a holy life, this cannot be achieved through education, reformation, or regulation; he must receive God’s life!

Regeneration is to be “born of the Holy Spirit.” If you are willing to follow the feeling within your spirit, confess your sins to God, and call on the Lord Jesus, you can use your spirit to believe and receive the Lord Jesus as your Savior. You will surely contact God in your spirit and be able to receive God’s life. Once God’s life enters into you, you will be regenerated.

The Meaning of Being a Christian

A Christian is a person who has received God’s dispensing. God first dispenses Himself into our spirit, then from our spirit He spreads to our soul. Eventually, our spirit, soul, and body will be filled with God and be saturated by God. The Bible calls this outcome “glorification.”

This is the purpose of human life!

This is the meaning of being a Christian!

This is God’s plan for you!

The Human Spirit—the Way to Enjoy God

The Human Spirit—the Way to Enjoy God

“Taste and see that Jehovah is good; / Blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him” (Psa. 34:8). Psalm 34:8 says that we can taste and see that Jehovah is good. The Lord Jesus also clearly said that He is our food; He is the bread of life that can be enjoyed by us (John 6:35).

What is the way to enjoy God?  For us to enjoy God and receive Him, God created man with a human spirit. God created everyone with a stomach so that we can enjoy our food. Similarly, for us to receive and enjoy God, He created us with a spirit. The spirit within us is for receiving God and enjoying Him.

When a man is very rich, he thinks about worshipping God, and when a man is in pain or in a dire condition, he also thinks about worshipping God. No one will ever see a dog, cat, or monkey worshipping God when it is desperate. Even when animals are at the height of their excitement or suffering, they will not turn to God or worship God. They have no need to worship God because they do not have a spirit.

Man is different. There is a spirit within man, and this spirit has a need. A nonchalant man does not feel the need in his spirit. But when he is brought to extreme circumstances, either extreme elation or extreme desperation, the need in his spirit is made manifest. He feels a deep need within him, a need that no person, thing, or matter on earth can satisfy. Nothing physical can satisfy this need. It is at such times that man thinks of worshipping God. There is a spirit within man, and God created man with this spirit in order that he could receive and enjoy Him.

It is no wonder the sages of old said that man is the spirit of all things.  Only man has a spirit. Hence, of all the things in creation, only man possesses a spirit. Man is certainly the highest of all creation. Man’s spirit is an organ prepared by God for him to receive and enjoy God.

You can pray in this way: “O God, thank You for creating a spirit in me so I can receive You and enjoy You. Because I have a spirit, the sense in my spirit causes me to know that I need You.  O God, my spirit, soul, and body need You. I simply open my spirit to You. O Lord Jesus, fill my spirit with Yourself and be the meaning of my life. Dear Lord, let me taste You in my spirit and enjoy Your goodness!”
