A Virus More Dreadful than Coronavirus
The world has been gripped by a newly discovered virus called COVID-19 has now spread all over the world as a pandemic. Having proliferated to over 200 countries in all inhabited continents. Epidemiologists project that if left unchecked, up to 60 percent of the world’s population could end up catching this virus before it tapers off.
A DEADLIER “VIRUS”
But little do many people know that there is another “virus” much deadlier than this one. This malignant “virus” has claimed the lives of countless people already for about 6,000 years. This “virus” was first contracted by the first couple of mankind, Adam and Eve. But because of this “virus” that had entered into man, man henceforth needed to die.
Worse was that the “virus” has since passed on to all of man’s descendants. Hence, the entire human race was infected by this “virus”, which in the Bible is called “sin”. As a result, all men have to die, for death is the direct issue of sin.
Why then is this virus deadlier than the novel coronavirus? That is because the worst that this coronavirus can do is to penetrate a person’s physical body and cause man’s physical death, while this virus called “sin” infiltrates the tripartite being of man and causes the eternal death of his whole being.
THE RESULTS OF CONTRACTING THE “SIN-VIRUS”
Although one may escape this coronavirus through a variety of measures, there is no escaping the “sin-virus” because we were born with it.
God wants man to receive God as life into his spirit so that man may live forever. However, before man could receive God, sin entered into him. Sin deadened his spirit, made him an enemy of God in his mind, and transmuted his body into sinful flesh. Thus, sin damaged all the three parts of man, alienating him from God. In this condition, man could not receive God.
IS THERE A CURE?
We thank the Lord that for the problem of the “sin-virus,” we already have a cure made available to mankind two thousand years ago. The Lord Jesus who is God Himself came to be a man and died for all men on the cross. 1 Peter 2:24 says, “Who Himself bore up our sins in His body on the tree, in order that we, having died to sins, might live to righteousness; by whose bruise you were healed.”
THE WAY TO BE HEALED AND LIVE
When our Lord Jesus was crucified, He was “lifted up” on the cross, so that all of us sinners who have the sinful nature should be healed and live just by looking away unto Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith.
The cure to the most dreadful “virus” is being given to you free of charge! All you have to do now is to believe into the Lord Jesus and you shall be saved.
Dear friend, only in Christ will you be saved from the “sin-virus”. I ask you to pray with me right now: “Lord Jesus, I thank You for coming to die on the cross for me. I confess that I am a sinner. I cannot save myself. I need You. Wash away my sins with your prevailing blood. Thank You for giving Your life to me. I accept You right now as my Savior and my life. In Your precious name, I pray. Amen.”
