A New Normal
“New normal” was a seldom-used phrase until the COVID-19 pandemic reared its head and wreaked havoc on the world. Many businesses and establishments are now shuttered. With so many unemployed or with no income, lives and dreams of people are likewise shattered. Everything around us has changed. It is not the normal environment we used to know and embrace. People are wondering when life will go back to normal, if it is going to be back to normal, and what is the “new normal” going to look like?
Yes, people’s life will go back to “normal” after this pandemic, and this “normal” will not come as anything new. Life will look like the way it was before the pandemic. The norm of life in their days was highlighted by people occupying themselves with eating and drinking, marrying and being given in marriage. People were engaged in booming commerce, agriculture, and construction. With these abundance came their exorbitant pride and ungodly, licentious and lawless life, and fornication. They did not care about God and were indifferent to the coming judgment, until the flood and the fire destroyed them all.
Like history tragically repeating itself, that was the “normal” life then, this is the same “normal” life now. People in this age are engrossed with eating and drinking which became lavish enjoyment and fanfare. They disregarded God. They have no sense of the coming judgment. When the pandemic is over, life will go back to normal — a “godless normal”, an “eat-all-you-can normal”, and worse, a “you-only-live-once normal”. This is their so-called “new normal”.
That is how the “new normal” in the new world order is going to look like, which will ultimately lead to a judgment of eternal fire. How about you? After emerging from this pandemic crisis, will you go about your “new normal” according to this world’s distorted standard of normalcy or according to God’s?
While Satan has his devious intention of deluding and seducing men away from God into a life of debauchery and sin, God in His loving heart provides a way to save men and recover them to Himself. Today God also provides a way of salvation for those willing to be saved from the impending judgment of eternal fire.
By entering into Him, you will not just sail safely through the pandemic, but also through all of life’s adversities even after the pandemic, so that you may truly live a godly life, a “new normal” according to God’s desire.
Friends, the world is headed towards destruction and judgment, and there is no salvation in any other, except in the Lord Jesus. Do turn to Him. Enter into Him as God’s ark in this generation and be saved by praying this prayer:
“Dear Lord Jesus, I realize that I live in an evil and perverted world today. Thank You for preparing the way of salvation for me. I open my heart now to accept You as my Lord and Savior. Amen.”
