Opening Up to the Lord
The human life — from being born and growing up; to going to school and getting a job; to getting married, raising children, and so on — is a process full of uncertainty. The unexpected outbreak of the pandemic, the stay-at-home orders, the social distancing orders, and so on have changed people’s livelihood and economic behavior that, before, were taken for granted. Suddenly the crowded streets have become deserted, and the freedom to roam about is gone. One cannot help but sigh that such a thing could have happened.
The more we swipe the smartphone screen, the more we feel lonely and lost. The more we watch the days go by and stay idle, the greater our sense of emptiness and loneliness. The out-of-control pandemic situation and all the terrifying news cause us to feel depressed and become increasingly anxious, scared, and restless. Many people have woken up in the middle of night sighing because dreams have been shattered and plans crushed. In whom can we confide? How can we find a solution? We gradually lose touch with friends around us. Even though we can contact our good friends who are thousands of miles away, we can only sympathize with one another and sigh together, staying silent before ending the conversation.
Dear friend, there is One in whom you can confide. The Lord Jesus surpasses the limits of time and space. He has been waiting for you to open up to Him. You just need to call: “O Lord Jesus.” He will enter into you and give you the divine and eternal life. He knows what you want, and He will remove all your emptiness, fear, and anxiety.
The Lord Jesus said: “Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, then I will come in to him and dine with him and he with Me” (Rev. 3:20). Dear friend, He is our most steadfast and trustworthy Friend. He is the Shepherd of our soul, and our Redeemer. Once you believe in Him and receive Him, He will never leave you and will be with you forever, making your life peaceful, joyful, and full of strength. He desires to share with you the rich feast of life.
