Washing Away Sins and Guilt
The book of Jeremiah in the Bible says: “I am about to bring it recovery and healing and will heal them; and I will reveal to them an abundance of peace and truth” (Jer. 33:6). Dear friend, in the past few months the entire world has experienced unprecedented darkness because of the outbreak of COVID-19. These days many cities are still struggling, and countless medical workers are still striving to bring healing to the land.
The word heal appears almost a hundred times in the Bible, revealing to us a God of healing. The psalmists in the Old Testament called upon the name of Jehovah God, entreating Him to heal their bodies and souls. For man to obtain a thorough healing, God Himself came to the earth two thousand years ago to become a man named Jesus, who could sympathize with all human sufferings. He taught the truth, proclaimed the kingdom of God, and healed the sick. At the end He was crucified on the cross for the sin of mankind. The Bible says: “By [His] bruise you were healed” (1 Pet. 2:24).
Dear friend, today there is not only the visible virus on earth that causes pain and illness, but also the invisible viruses such as panic, selfishness, anxiety, greediness, and sinfulness that plague us continually and is almost unpreventable. For this reason, we all need healing. Today, this healing One has passed through death and resurrection, overcoming darkness, sickness, and death, and has become the life-giving Spirit, transcending time and space in order to give Himself to man, to personally heal man’s body, soul, and spirit. This healing is freely available and infinitely abundant. The Lord Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life” (John 11:25). Dear friend, all you need is to open your heart to receive Him by calling on His name: “O Lord Jesus, I receive You. O Lord Jesus, I open to You. I need You!” Then His divine and eternal life, His resurrection and healing power, will enter into you, and He will wash away all your weaknesses, sins, filthiness, and guilt. Moreover, His surpassing peace and boundless joy will be with you forever.
